Where we come from
Set up in the 1980’s by Robert Stroud, we have since expanded steadily to become what is widely perceived to be the leading building contractor of our size and type in the Thames Valley area, earning a reputation for high quality craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. We became a limited company in 2004 and Robert our Operations Director was joined on the board by Managing Director William Anstice and Company Secretary Chloe Baker. Since then the company has achieved Investors in People status and has continued to grow its staff numbers and turnover to meet demand for its services.
Where we are
In addition to our aforementioned core values, integrity, honesty and transparency in our everyday dealings are attributes that are ingrained in our culture. Only these can ensure that relations and communications between contractor and customer function in a way that will guarantee a satisfactory outcome from each and every project.
We offer a full, design and build service wherein customers instruct us on their budget and requirements and we collaborate closely with them - and with associated designers, architects and engineers - to create the design and specification that not only meets those requirements, but is within budget and which ultimately fulfils and often exceeds our customer’s hopes and dreams for their property.
Alongside competitive tendering and contract pricing, we operate an alternative ‘open book’ (or ‘cost-plus’) option for those customers that demand best practice from first meeting to completion and true value for money. Please do ask us for more information on this increasingly popular business model.
We place a strong emphasis on training and personal development and work closely with the Government appointed skills body ‘Construction Skills’ to ensure that all our site-based employees – from apprentice to site supervisor - are being up-skilled constantly. In-house tradesmen are well trained in Health and Safety and trade qualified to NVQ level 2/3. Likewise, management systems are assessed, audited and improved regularly.
Where we are going
Our mission is to continue to be a growing business in the residential and commercial markets and to continue improving the range of services we offer. Looking ahead to the Climate Change Act and its zero-carbon rating requirements on construction, we intend to remain at the forefront of our market sector with use of new materials and techniques, building on our experience of new technologies such as renewable energy source installations. We are keenly aware of our responsibility to provide homes and buildings that will comply with the stringent energy efficiency requirements of the near future and we are a business that is constantly improving and evolving in order to meet that challenge.
"Nothing was too much trouble and together with those in the office, anything unexpected that arose was responded to quickly and dealt with in a professional manner."
